Unbelievable
is the only word that can be used to describe Zink Alloy
vocalist and front man, Steve DeMello. He is
worth his weight in gold (and then some) with his innate
ability to draw an audience in and leave them begging
for more. He has got to be seen to be believed!
A 1978 graduate of East Providence High
School, Steve has an incredible vocal range that allows
the band to explore music by such bands as Led Zeppelin,
Aerosmith and Journey. But, his talent doesn't stop
there.
He
has a way with an audience that truly makes them become
a part of the show. With a wireless microphone, Steve
regularly takes off into the crowd, coaxing people to
lend their voices to a song, or stepping behind the bar
to engage the bartenders in a little verbal
give-and-take. His quick wit and talent for the
extraordinary is what gives Zink Alloy its incredible
performing edge.
Steve DeMello is no stranger to the
local music scene, getting his start in a rock and roll
band called Airwaves (1, 2, 3, 4 and 5, he
says -- apparently, they reincarnated themselves several
times...), where he performed music from such heavy rock
bands as Dokken, Black Sabbath and Ronnie James Dio.
Steve
is perhaps best-known among RI classic rock fans for the
12 years he spent as the lead vocalist for the popular
cover band, Archives. Although Steve left
Archives about 4 years ago to begin raising a family, he
left an indelible mark on his many loyal fans, many of
whom have now turned their attention to Zink Alloy.
Steve
has a wife, Stacey
and resides in West Greenwich, RI.
The couple have two children. By day, Steve works for
the industrial food equipment giant, Hobart, where he
repairs commercial food equipment. |
